Long time no write.... my last post was on Oct. 2nd. I'm glad to see your comments Betty. Tks!!
Well, tomorrow will be my last day at TCU and my last writing test too. I hope I can get a 6. Let's see. Speaking of TCU, the book presentation was very nice. Everybody did a great job. Kurk said my presentation was the most educational of all and there was only one negative thing about it: instead of 10 minutes, it was 10'30". I passed by 30 seconds. Not too bad and I got an A+. Fantastic!! I'm very happy with the result of my presentation. My husband helped me a lot to practice my speech.
Saturday night we have a dinner at my friend's house. The menu will be Raclette. How fancy! It's a swiss cheese and you grill it on a special pan with vegetables. I'll make a mousse or strawberry pie as dessert.
My birthday is coming.. on the 28th. And one of my brothers-in-law (from Brazil) will be here on the weekend of my b-day. Probably I'll make a bbq at home and invite a few friends to join us. Nothing big 'cause I don't like to have big celebrations.. if you're getting older, why to celebrate?
I'm watching that late show with Jay Leno and the guy from "The Hell's Kitchen" is there. He's cooking pancakes with pineaples. Looks so yummy!!
I'm going to stop right now because I'm very tired. Today was a long day... bye.

I just finished my lunch and after I post my text, I'll study for the vocabulary test that I have tomorrow.
The class was very nice this morning. We had some native speakers coming in for a conversation, and I met a very nice lady, Katherine, who worked as an elementary teacher, and has four children and six grandchildren. She is originally from Arkansas and has lived in Dallas for more than 20 years.
K.T. (her nick name) has travelled to a lot of countries such as England, France, Holland etc.. but her favorite place is London. She also visited 48 states in the U.S. Most of the trips were done by car when her husband and she were younger. Nowadays, she doesn't travel by car anymore 'cause of her age: 80 years-old. Can you believe it? I would like to get old and be just like her when I turn 80! She is very sweet and remindes me my grandmother.
My friend Dani invited me to go out for lunch tomorrow. She has to take her friend to DFW airport, so would be perfect to meet her close to the airport. I just need to call her and confirm it.
Yesteday I was watching one of my favorites shows on TV: Dancing with Stars. For my surprise, one of the stars is Helio Castro Neves, a Brazilian driver. He is very nice guy and speaks very good English. Everytime when I see a famous Brazilian speaking English, I try to pay attetion to their accents. Like Gisele Bundchen ( Victoria's Secrets model), she speaks very clearly and doesn't have too much accent. Good for her! And I still have to work on mine.

How hard is to wake up early on Mondays... I think nobody likes Mondays morning...
Well, today class was very nice. We went to visit Real World a non-profit agency, affiliated with TCU, that works with advertising, marketing and public relations for non-profit organizations. The cool thing about it is the staff is composed by TCU students majoring in the areas of marketing, advertising, communication, public relations etc... It was very interesting to know how they do their job.
We also had a vocabulary quiz and I did great. On Wednesday we're gonna have one more, so I need to study 2 more lists.
By Thursday I will take my speaking test for the third time. I wanna see If I can improve more. My last score was 61, so I hope I can get at least 65.
My husband is in Trinidad & Tobago this week. He'll be back on Friday night. I don't like when he travels especially now that I'm in the new house, so everything is kind of scary for me. But that's ok, I can deal with that.
I have an appointment with my hair stylist on Friday. I can't wait to cover my black roots.. just look horrible right now.
Ok I'll continue tomorrow.

I can't believe how fast last week was. Probably because I had some things to do and I not even noticed.
Well, I've been organizing the house, going to school, doing homework, taking care of Troy, Sandy, and some other things.. Everyday I've woke up early and gone to bed late. This is not the life that I desire for myself, but at the same time, I know this is just temporary. Therefore, in a few months, I'll be able to breathe normally again!
Next month I'll turn 27 and as a birthday gift, I would like to have a party in my new house. It would be so great to show my house to my friends. I'm looking forward for that!
There are 2 more weeks to go for the end of my first session at TCU. I'm not sure if I'll do the second session. I might be ready to get a job before that. Let's see what is going to happen.
As usual, on Fridays we have a speaking or writing test at TCU. Last Friday was writing, and I got 5 out of 6. Ok, let me clarify one thing: the very first one that I did in the morning I got 4, and I thought I didn't have enough time to finish it. Then later, I was able to continue from where I stopped. In fact, I had 6 minutes left on the computer, so that worked out in my favor and I got 5! I'm feeling better now 'cause I really wanted to see my improvements, especially in my writing.
Yesterday we went to Fort Worth where they have stockyards to have dinner with some friends. The food was delicious especially desert. I ate pecan pie with ice cream! It was out of this world!!
Well, I gotta go ‘cause I need to study some vocabulary for tomorrow morning.
Bye.

What a beautiful day outside! If I didn't have to pack my moving I would go to the pool.. maybe I'll be able to do that tomorrow.
I took another speaking test this morning and I improved a little bit :-) My first score was 57 and the second, 61. I'm glad and I hope I can make at least 65 on my next one.
I'm waiting on my friend, Daniela, because we're going to take few things to my new house and she has a bigger car. So she probably will be here by 4:00pm. Also she is going to see the house done. Last time she saw it, it was under construction. I think she will like it because both of us have the same taste for decoration, finishing...
I need to go online and find used books to buy. I have 2 on my list for the writing class and I don't want to spend a lot of money on this because I'll be studying only for 2 months, so I think it doesn't worth it.
Daniela just called and she is on her way!
Tonight there is an event "Frog Fest" but I'm not going because I don't have anybody to go with me. My husband will be back only on Sunday... that's ok. I'll go to a next one.

I went to Barns & Noble last night and I found another interesting book about the Jewish girl: "Anne Frank, Beyond the Diary". It's even more interesting because this is the story of her life before she was forced into hiding in The Netherlands. Also the book has so many pictures of where she used to live, pages of her diary, her family etc... and the testimony of the people who last saw Anne and her sister Margot alive.I already have everything on my mind for the presentation. I'm very excited and looking foward to showing the class about it!Ok now it's time to go out with Sandy (my dog). By the way, you can see her on the big picture with me. She is a long haired dachshund. Everyday we go to the park right across my apartment and walk for 15 - 20 minutes. She loves it specially because of other dogs. As a matter of fact, I've seen so many dogs here that makes me believe that Americans love pets more than Brazilians, and they treat their dogs and cats as a family member. That's cool!!When I come back I'll start working on my autobiography... what a disappointment for me in the classroom this morning... I thought my bio was ok but when I saw Melissa's I was ashamed of myself.. That's all right... I know I can do better and I'll do!

My teacher came up with this brilliant idea of writing a journal three times a week... ok let's get started!!!Today was my second day at TCU. The classes have been good and the teachers are very nice!I'm very lucky for having the opportunity of studying there. It's very important for me specially because I would like to get a better job, so I know I can improve my wrinting and communication skills.Changing subject, I'm ready to move to my new house. That is so exciting!!!!! I can't wait to be there. The hardest part is packing all stuff... so far I've packed 4 boxes and it's not over yet. When my husband comes back from a business trip we'll do the furniture and all the heavy things. Probably we'll need some help and that's why we have relatives right?....right now the phone is ringing but I'm not going to stop my ideas... My homework needs to be done by tonight. I still haven't decided the book for the presentation.. could be "Marley & Me" or "The Diary of Anne Frank". The second one is more interesting because tells about the diary that this Jewish girl wrote while in hidding with her family and friends during the Germam occupation of the Netherlands in World War II.
